Preparations for the participation of India as Honoured Country at the 84th TIF have reached fever pitch. President of TIF-Helexpo Mr Tasos Tzikas and the CEO Mr Kyriakos Pozrikidis travelled to India over the past few days, in the framework of the delegation that was organised in cooperation with the Indian Embassy in Greece and the Greek Embassy in India. They carried out a series of meetings with Indian governmental and financial agents, as well as with Bollywood representatives who are interested in productions in Greece, specifically in Thessaloniki. Overall, over the four days the trip lasted, they had 14 meetings.

The 83rd TIF experienced its very own “American dream”, raising the bar even higher this year as it succeeded in attracting 283,853 visitors, as compared to 263,724 last year. People of all ages embraced the Fair enthusiastically, turning it into the largest of the last 20 years.

Thessaloniki is preparing to welcome the largest TIF to be held in the last 20 years. From the 8th to the 16th of September, the heart of entrepreneurship, innovation, and US tech excellence will beat in this northern Greek city. With a total of 20 official, direct state participations, as compared to 17 last year, and the USA as the honoured country, the 83rd TIF will be the most international of recent years.

Business giants with a leading role in the global market, such as Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Google and Cisco, were drawn by the 83rd TIF, in the framework of this year’s participation of the USA as the Honoured Country.
The 83rd TIF will be held from 8 to 16 September 2018 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre. It was presented today in Athens to the representatives of the diplomatic corps to Greece.
As underlined by President of TIF-Helexpo, Mr Tassos Tzikas, “our national exhibition organisation is moving at an intense pace in preparation of September’s 2018 TIF, at which the USA will be this year’s Honoured Country. The 83rd TIF will be characterised by the extroversion that TIF-Helexpo has been systematically investing in over the last few years, through networking in the international exhibition industry”.

Over 260,000 visitors graced the 82nd TIF, which ended yesterday, renewing its appointment for September 2018.
The 82nd TIF ended in the most impressive way, as the concert given by Sakis Rouvas, dedicated to the ‘ORAMA ELPIDAS’ Association and the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors, brought together thousands of people of all ages, achieving a record attendance number.
More specifically, 263,724 individuals (as compared to 210,081 last year) went through the gates of the Fair from 9 to 17 September and visited the largest TIF of the last decade.
The enormous number of visitors were met by 1,500 exhibitors and the highly successful participation of China, which set the bar high for the institution of the Honoured Country with 167 exhibition participations and over 400 individuals as part of the official delegation.
An intensely business-oriented character and increased internationalisation were the dominant elements of the ‘personality’ of the 82nd TIF.
The individual sections of the Fair covered a broad range of interests, from education, vehicles and energy to beauty, gastronomy and e-gaming, with numerous actions and events.

TIF brought Greece and China closer today, sending a message of cooperation during the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year celebrations at the South Gate of Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre. Today's ceremony marks the beginning of a number of events which will culminate this September, at the 82nd TIF, where China will be the honoured country. During the event, the flags of Greece and China were raised and the countries’ national anthems were performed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. A unit of the 3rd Army Corps served as the honour guard, while the symbol of Greek-Chinese cooperation was also presented.
